"It is hard to believe that this restaurant is siutated on Eastgate Street in Aberystwyth, when it could so easily compete with the best. Coming from Lyon, the gastronomic capital of France, I can say with utter surprise that Le Vignoble is the best restaurant I've ever been to. We had a three-course lunch for two, with a glass of wine each, and the bill? Under £50! I was absolutely blown away. The mains were mouthwateringly superb, and everything was presented perfectly. The service was impeccable, despite the restaurant being full, and we left feeling thoroughly satsified, and amazed it didn't cost more." - Chris [Feb 2008]

"Wonderful food, friendly service. Altogether superb." - S. York [Oct 2007]

"Wasn't as good as expected, but not bad. Service was slow and sloppy. Food ok. Not first on my list for eating out in Aber." - Ms. Duke [Feb 2007]

"We have eaten here twice on our trips down from Scotland. Le Vignoble can compete with the best independent restaurants in Glasgow and the south-west of Scotland. Excellent seasonal dishes carefully prepared and friendly service too. First class wine list. Without doubt the best place we know in Aberystwyth and environs. Well worth making a journey for." - Tony & Gerda Scott, Ayr [Aug 2006]

"Outstanding, and quite staggeringly so for Aberystwyth. It's not a huge place, but the tables are well space to allow for reasonable intimacy and privacy. We had starters that were as excellent, as one would expect for the price, but not truly outstanding. Nothing to complain about, but nothing to shout about. Great wine list at truly cheap prices - Ch. Haut-Bages Averous 1990 for under £40 and a half bottle of white burgundy for under £12. Both were sensational. But we were absolutely blown away by the mains. My sirloin (can it have been sirloin rather than fillet), was truly meltingly tender, and far and away the best I've had in the UK in living memory. My partner's duck was impeccable, the dessert also excellent. And the bill for all this lavishness? £101 for two. Too cheap, we say. So, don't think this restaurant is expensive - for the quality, it's positively good value. We will, of course, be back. Only one minor criticism - the service was agonisingly slow, but the staff were hard pressed and very polite - needed one more serving staff for a Saturday clearly." - Dean & Pai [Jul 2006]

"A wonderful experience for those who like to take their time over a meal and good value too." - Savour Man [Jun 2006]

"Excellent food, good service, excellent wines available. However, you do need to know your wines as, unfortunately, the wine list is less than informative and the staff not as knowledgeable as perhaps they should be when it comes to combining wine choices with those of food. Easily the best restaurant in Aberystwyth." - Mangetout [May 2006]
