Airport Links
Of all the main UK airports, Birmingham International is the most convenient airport for Aberystwyth if you are relying on public transport.
Birmingham International BHX
The airport has its own railway station with frequent trains to Birmingham New Street (10-15 minutes). From Birmingham New Street, regular direct trains are available to Aberystwyth. Shortest journey time is about 3 hours and 20 minutes.

Cardiff Wales CWL
Take the express bus to Cardiff city centre. Cardiff Bus Station is right next to Cardiff Central railway station, where you can either:
i. catch the X40 TrawsCambria bus (see) to Aberystwyth (2 a day), or
ii. take a train to Carmarthen, then transfer to one of the more frequent X40 buses (see) for Aberystwyth, or
iii. take a train to Shrewsbury, where you can catch a direct train on to Aberystwyth (slower and more expensive).

Liverpool LIV
Rail services are available from Liverpool city centre, changing at either either Chester or Crewe, and Shrewsbury.

London Gatwick, Heathrow, Luton and Stansted LGW LHR LTN STN
All of London's airports have fast transport links into the city centre, from where onward coach and rail services to Aberystwyth are most frequent. If arriving in the evening, an overnight stay in London may well be necessary.
Direct National Express coaches also connect the airports directly with Birmingham, where road and rail connections on to Aberystwyth can also be made.
Some direct rail services also operate from Gatwick and Stansted to Birmingham New Street.

Bus and train services operate to the city centre, from where train services run to Aberystwyth, changing trains at Shrewsbury.

Ferry Services
Fast ferry services connect Ireland and Wales, with ferries docking at Holyhead and Fishguard.
Fishguard Harbour
The arrival point for ferries from Rosslare. You can take a bus to Cardigan (service 412) then change onto the X50 (see) to complete the journey to Aberystwyth.
Holyhead Port
The arrival point for ferries from Dublin and Dun Laoghaire. A train or bus can be taken from Holyhead to Bangor, from where the X32 bus (see) runs directly to Aberystwyth.

International Coaches & Eurostar
Eurolines coaches to the UK arrive at London Victoria, from where you can transfer to the onward National Express Coach to Aberystwyth. Alternatively, cross London to Euston Station for trains to Aberystwyth.
Eurostar trains from Paris and Brussels arrive at London Waterloo. From Waterloo, cross London to Euston Station for trains to Aberystwyth.
