Glengower Hotel
No longer opening as a club in the evenings, the Glen's changed back to a normal daytime pub. The former dancefloors have been converted into bright, spacious seating areas good for a quiet drink or game of pool.
One real strength of this place is that its beer terrace is the only place you can legally drink outside on the seafront.
Also offers hotel accommodation - book online.

Bad manners
Outragious the so called Manager of the Glengower... This is not a welcoming establisment ..in fact he goes out of his way to be aggresive and rude... I really think this is one of the worse places I have ever stept foot in.... I would also agree it is very dirty and smelly ...

Another one bites the dust.....
Turned into a rubbish sporty-studoid bar. Ten years ago, this place ruled for under-age drinking, loud music and utter debauchery on weekends! Haha! Those were the days. 11pm closing? B*ll*cks to that!!!

STINKY PUB
This place STINKS, give it a miss, the whole pub needs fumigating from top to bottom. Try it out if you dare but i would equip yourself with a GASMASK....

At last! Someone in Aberystwyth has the courage to cater for anybody but students. Real ale, good food, relaxed atmosphere - no wonder the student trade that want to get legless on a fiver are disappointed! Keep up the good work.

Older Comments about the Glengower
"I drive two hours every weekend to watch the football at the Glen. It is the best pub by far in Aberystwyth and the staff are excellent." - Riss [Mar 2008]
"I really enjoyed my stay here and the staff were very welcoming. I come here every summer and will be continuing to do so. The menu is the best improvement, the food selection is great, and we were very impressed." - Sandra [Jul 2007]
"I stumbled across this place on a visit to Aber and am glad I did! Great drinks, great whisky selection, great food, friendly bar staff. Having looked at it since on the internet however I can see that the website is in serious need of updating! But overall a lovely seaside pub." - Chris Ward [Aug 2007]
"In my opinion the best pub in town: great food, great selection of drinks (only place I know in Aber to sell San Miguel) and really friendly staff. On a sunny day it's hard to think of a better place I've ever been to. Much better than the dive it once was!" - Frazer Temperley [Jul 2007]
"Absolutely superb pool tables, that are often free. However it's expensive, cold (even when it's warmish outside!) and lacks atmosphere. All right for pool but not a place to have a proper session in, could be a lot better." - Danny [May 2007]
