The manager (the dark one) was very rude to me and kept eyeing up my heavily pregnant girlfriend. I did not like this. Also another a dark member of the staff kept coughing on the food as it arrived to the table. I was worried for the sake of my unborn child. Anyway we refused to eat the flem filled Korma. We did however eat the other food. We did complain to the manager and he refused to to replace it or refund it. He was not sympathetic at all which was sad. The very next day my girlfriend was vomiting. Everyone avoid Eastgate as it has another restaurant called Wasabi which is just as bad.

what are all these negative feed backs dont listen to them, this restaurant is the best in aberystwyth by far. Its transformed to a modern and city style place where you can enjoy a lovely meal and enjoy the atmosphere and good service. friendly staff and have a great new menu which has duck and fish something different to all the normal boring stuff. They are trying to make a difference and provide a great service to the town. So trust me on this one this is an amazing place to go and try it!

to try, yes! but then FOR second time? absolutely NOT! foods are below average and service is certainly bad. Have to wait so long for foods to come and dissapointing. The manager or owner was not friendly at all. We were there once, and the manager even asked the worker to keep an eye on us to make sure we paid before we left, just because we are students. Thumbs down!

Just had a takeaway, chicken balti and shashlick. If we were not so hungry we would have taken them back. This is the second time in a month we have been disappointed with a curry from Aber (the first was the Shilam, usually good). Come on Aber curry houses shape up on the quality or it is going to be shop bought from now.

Can't believe the above comments. I took my wife and kids here for a special occasion. Special it wasn't! Ordered 2 pints of cobra lager and they bought us 2 pints of coke. Then tried to charge us for them. Was asked if we would like some poppodoms whilst we were waiting, then got charged cod them. Food not bad but not brilliant. One to avoid I think.

Absolutely lovely. The Makai Salmon is a treat for Peskatarians and carnivores who dont want the traditional "chicken korma", such a shame it isn't availible for takeaway. The only other down side is that they seem reluctant to hire out the party room. We tried so use it for a group of 16 and even though it wasn't already books they refused to give us it and we ended up in the main resturant, on a very large table, in the way of the stairs so other customers found difficulty in going to the loo. The party room remained empty. However I cannot fault anything else.

The restuarant looks absolutely amazing, brings something fresh and modern to the town. Not only the place but also atmosphere, the food and its modern presentation takes it to another level, whether you eat traditional curries or you want to experiment with something new, you will find all of that in Light of Asia. What's unusual for Indian restaurants, Light of Asia has a party room upstairs, if you want to bring big group of people, celebrate birthdays etc. The staff and service is really friendly and helpful. As regular customers, we also have to notice that the place upgrades and developes its service and facilities all the time, complimentary poppadoms and chutneys with take aways do not suprise us anymore. This is an ultimate Indian experiment and in my opinion this is the best Indian restaurant in Aberystwyth!
