MG's cafe on Great Darkgate Street

Two sister shops in the town centre. A modern, cosy coffee shop on Chalybeate Street is complemented by the Great Darkgate Street deli and takeaway which also has a seating area.

Nice, friendly Staff and a good concept, unfortunately the food is a real letdown.
Don’t whatever you do order the Cesar salad rap. I don’t think the nice people at Mgs have any real understanding of what a Cesar salad rap should be. I seems that Mgs style is take a one somewhat stale mexican tortilla and fill with a little shredded iceberg and some of that really nasty cheap watery chicken the comes in pre cut cubes from Holland! Then they shove on some dodgy dressing, which I think is meant to be Cesar but really dose not taste like it. This is all wrapped up rather sloppily without even the wrap being cut into two.

They make a big thing out of being a locally owned café and using mostly locally produced foods. But not chicken it seems! however if its a good coffee you want and a nice wrap I suggest the internationally owned coffee shop across the street. Why should customers in the Aber have to out up with cheap foods sold at expensive prices just because we are told that this is the ethical thing to do! The staff seem nice though…

Well I don't know who wrote the above comment but they have a serious problem. MG's is a friendly place, with lovely staff (including the management), who are defiately NOT arrogant. See for yourself and don't listen to what someone who obviously has a grudge as the one and only opinion!
