Nag's Head

Nag's Head pub, Aberystwyth

Small, traditional style and with a friendly atmosphere - this is a pub that's full of locals and regulars but still welcomes newcomers.

I used to live here 25 years ago. It was a good pub then. The year before I lived at the Old Bank, down the road. We used to come up to the Nag's for a schooner of sherry and thought we were sophisticated! I was a student then, but it wasn't a student's pub, and we were accepted as regulars.

Fantastic, local, the best pub in Aber with the friendliest atmosphere and the best juke box in town!

I was in the Nag's head in July 2008 enjoying a pint of superb Banks's ale and a friendly chat with the local pool players and a wonderful barmaid who persuaded me into buying a raffle ticket for a good local cause! A very friendly pub.

"Hmm, I have been in here many a time, fresh from the bus. It's a good place to open an evening, 'a swift half' before moving on to somewhere like The Orangery. The only downside is the juke box takes ages to get to the song you paid for." - Daniel Hull [Feb 2006]
"Strongly Welsh, very local feel. Friendly, drunken regulars will gladly greet you. The bar serves a range of drinks at reasonable prices to anybody of any age. Free pool on Wednesdays." - Anon [Feb 2006]

"The best Saturday pre-club pub in town. Downside: drinks are fairly dear." - Cheezra
