Absoloutely the best restaurant in Aberystwyth. Imaginative menu and always great tasting food.

This is a hidden gem as someone has already said and I try to tell as many people as possible about it. This week my friend and I had Nick's pumpkin and coconut curry, one of the week's specials. Wonderful! Go for it before the pumpkin season ends.

My friend and I visited the Peers Restaurant this afternoon for lunch. We both had a courgette, mushroom and re-fried beans taco. It was absolutely delicious. We then decided that we would have to try a desert so we had vanilla cheesecake - the best cheesecake I have ever had!! We will be visiting Aberystwth again just to go back to this restaurant.

We popped in here after looking at their menu blackboard at the entrance to the alley. My partner is veggie and I had initially dragged him down Baker Street to go to the veggie place next door but he didn't like the look of their menu. We both had a burger for lunch - I think mine was a Mexican burger (it was back in Oct 2010) and it just melted - my partner's veggie burger was made with refried beans and cashew nuts and he still raves about it to this day - we even had a go at recreating ourselves. The small fried potatoes were equally delicious - think they may have had rosemary on. The background music is eclectic for most tastes but fits in with the atmosphere perfectly - 10/10 from us and we are actually trying to find a campsite down that way for this year just so we can go back again for lunch.:-D

Visited Peers Restaurant on a cold January lunch time, first impression cosy & warm although very dimly lit. We had to wait 45 minuets for our meal with no in between apologies (2 x salmon fish cakes + 1 beef curry). The cutlery was laid by the waiter by the tip of the knife & fork leaving finger marks. The food was excellent & attractively served on the plate. Plenty of room up stairs & a lot lighter too.
A lack of adequate air extraction meant that we smelt of cooking & oil all afternoon.

Meal & presentation 9/10

Appearance & service 5/10 :-D

My favourite place to visit when I'm in Aberystwyth. The simplicity of its setting belies the quality of the food. (Don't make it too popular though...)

a little gem
It is a small sized (compared to other restaurants in Aber I think) and two-story restaurant. It is not located at the seafront, but at a very nice and quiet location. Haven't tried the dinner yet.Their lunch menu is good and reasonably priced(around 4-7 pounds). Like the beef risotto.
