The Scholars
Very nice, slighty rustic look inside with random paraphenalia on the walls. Large ground floor with bar in the middle gives a choice of places to sit including the weathered but ever-popular sofas at the back. Upstairs gallery level has a pool table and room for larger groups.

Nice pub, good atmosphere and good beer. Bar staff are very nice too. However, we have stopped going at the weekends since the door staff are aggresive and verbally abusive even to women at closing time. Avoid at weekends or leave early.

Great pub atmosphere. Food's not too great but it's not a bad price. Always have a good night in there.
